Pickleball lessons in Singapore.
The sport everyone's talking about — now with proper coaching.
Pickleball is booming in Singapore. Courts are appearing everywhere, social groups fill up fast, and everyone from first-timers to former tennis players wants in. Most people are figuring it out on their own. We bring the same structured, personalised coaching that earned us 5.0★ in tennis — and apply it to pickleball.
Why everyone gets hooked.
A racquet sport that borrows from tennis, badminton and table tennis: a smaller court, a solid paddle, and a perforated plastic ball that travels slowly enough for anyone to rally within minutes.
That low barrier to entry is exactly why Singapore has taken to it. Courts are being added across the island, social groups fill within minutes of opening, and players who had given up on racquet sports — or never started — are on court twice a week. It is sociable by design: most pickleball is played in doubles, so you turn up alone and leave with four new contacts.
The catch is the one nobody mentions. Pickleball is easy to play and genuinely difficult to play well. The soft game at the kitchen line, the third-shot drop, knowing when to speed a rally up — none of that arrives on its own. Most people plateau within a few months and stay there, rallying happily at the same level for years. Coaching is what shortens that.
Learn from a coach who competes.
Anthony Claudot doesn't only teach pickleball — he competes. In 2025 he collected three medals on the Singapore pickleball circuit.
- Bronze — Community Challenge, singles — January 2025
- Bronze — PickleSlam, singles — May 2025
- Bronze — Singapore Masters, singles — December 2025
That competitive experience feeds straight back into his coaching: strategy, court positioning, and the mental edge that separates social players from serious ones. Add 20 years of tennis coaching across 7 countries, training at Sutton Tennis Academy in London, and a background in applied biomechanics — and you get pickleball coaching built on a method, not on tips picked up between games.
From the kitchen line outwards.
We build your game in the order the rally actually demands it — starting where most points are won and lost.
- Dinks at the kitchen line — We start where the rally usually ends up: the non-volley zone. Soft hands, contact point, patience. Get this right and everything else becomes easier.
- Drives and drops — When to add pace, and — far harder — when to take it off. The third-shot drop is the single skill that separates social players from good ones.
- Serve and return — The serve is underhand, so it is easy to put in and easy to waste. We work on depth, placement and the return that buys you the net.
- Kitchen transitions — Moving from the baseline to the non-volley line without getting caught in between. This is the part nobody teaches themselves, and the part that wins matches.

Personalised diagnostic
Tennis convert? Complete beginner? Social player who wants to get serious? We start by understanding where you are and where you want to go.
Progressive technique
Dink, drive, drop, serve — we build your game from the kitchen line outwards. A step-by-step progression, not a handful of random tips.
Movement science
Footwork, positioning and court coverage. Anthony's biomechanics background means we optimise how you move, not only what you hit.
The social element
Pickleball thrives on community. Sessions are designed to be sociable and energising — you should leave wanting to play again this week.
Tennis or pickleball — which one is for you?
We coach both, at the same prices, with the same coaches. So we have no reason to sell you one over the other — here is the straight version.
Pickleball
Smaller court, less ground to cover, underhand serve, a ball that travels slowly. You will rally in your first session and enjoy it immediately. Played mostly in doubles, so it is social by default. Gentler on the joints, which matters if you are coming back from a long lay-off. The technical ceiling arrives sooner — but the tactical one is higher than people expect.
Tennis
A bigger court, a heavier ball and a longer technical runway. The serve and the topspin forehand take months rather than weeks, and the physical demand is real. In exchange you get a progression that keeps going for years, and a game that rewards every hour you put into it.
Our honest answer: come and try both. Pickleball is easier to start; tennis offers the longer progression. Plenty of our players do both — same coaches, same method, same rates, and the footwork transfers better than you would think.

Pickleball — what people ask.
What is pickleball?
Pickleball is a racquet sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton and table tennis. It is played on a smaller court with a paddle and a perforated plastic ball. It is easy to learn, fun to play, and suitable for all ages and fitness levels.
Do I need any experience to take a lesson?
None at all. Many of our pickleball students are complete beginners. We teach you everything from scratch — how to serve, how to rally, and how to position yourself on court.
What should I bring?
Comfortable sportswear and a water bottle. We provide paddles and balls. Bring sunscreen and a hat for outdoor sessions.
How much do pickleball lessons cost?
Exactly the same as tennis: SGD 130 per hour for a private session, SGD 70 per player semi-private, SGD 50 per player in a group of three, SGD 40 per player in a group of four. Your first lesson includes a full movement assessment at no extra cost. No packages, no lock-in.
Is pickleball coaching just for adults?
Primarily, yes — our pickleball sessions focus on adults and older teenagers. For younger players we recommend starting with our Kids Tennis programme.
How is Pure Sport different from other pickleball coaching in Singapore?
Anthony Claudot combines competitive pickleball experience — three medals on the Singapore circuit in 2025 — with 20 years of professional racquet-sport coaching across 7 countries, training at Sutton Tennis Academy in London, and a background in applied biomechanics.
