FAQ

Your questions, answered plainly.

Forty-four questions, sorted into six clear categories.

If your question is not here, message us on WhatsApp — we reply as quickly as we can, seven days a week. And if you would rather just try it, book a first lesson — the movement diagnostic is included.

Getting started

The questions everyone asks first.

What the method is, who coaches it, and what actually happens when you book.

What happens in the first lesson?

One hour with an ITF Gold recognised coach: posture, movement, level and goals. You leave knowing where you stand and what to work on — whether you continue with us or not.

What is The Pure Method?

Biomechanics first: your coach studies how you move before changing anything. The full walkthrough is on The Pure Method page.

How is Pure Sport different from other tennis coaches in Singapore?

We start from how your body moves rather than from drills, and we come to your court instead of asking you to travel. Set out on our method page.

Does The Pure Method work for beginners?

Particularly well — they learn correct movement from day one instead of unlearning habits later. See the method page.

What qualifications do Pure Sport coaches have?

French-qualified, through a system the ITF recognises at Gold level, plus our own internal programme before coaching alone. Credentials on the method page, and on each coach's own — Anthony Claudot, Jonas Lefort, Lucas Mertz.

Is the coaching the same whether I book with Anthony, Lucas or Jonas?

Yes — three months of training on the method before anyone coaches alone. Personality differs, the standard does not: how that consistency is built.

What age can kids start?

From age four with our Galaxy Tennis levels — five stages of court and ball that let children rally and play matches from the very first session.

Tennis or pickleball — which one is for me?

Come and try both. Same coaches, same method. Pickleball is easier to start; tennis offers a longer progression. Many families do both.

Do I need my own racquet?

Not for a first session, we bring one. Your coach advises before you buy anything — ask us from the contact page.

How quickly will I hear back?

As quickly as we can, seven days a week between 7am and 10pm. WhatsApp is fastest — all the ways to reach us.

Courts & locations

Where we play, and when.

We come to you across 20 neighbourhoods — here is how that works in practice.

Do I need my own tennis court?

Most players use their condo court, free and two minutes from home. Nothing at your condo? Tell us your area and we will suggest one nearby.

Where do lessons take place?

Condo and club courts across 20 neighbourhoods. The practicalities differ by programme — adult tennis, kids tennis.

What are your coaching hours?

We coach Mon–Sun · 7am–10pm. Early mornings before work, after-school slots, evenings and weekends are all possible — court availability in your condo is usually the limiting factor, not our diary.

Can I ask for a specific coach?

Yes — say so when you message and we will match it to your schedule where we can. Tell us who you would like.

Kids & teens

For parents of players.

Ages, levels, kit and competition — from the first bounce to the tournament circuit.

What age can my child start tennis lessons?

From four, with sessions built for ages 4 to 6. Kids tennis lessons in Singapore sets out each age group.

What is the Galaxy Tennis programme?

Five levels for ages 4 to 10 — white, purple, red, orange then green — each with its own court size and ball. All five Galaxy levels.

How do I know which level my child is at?

Book a first lesson and the coach assesses them — no test, no pressure. What each level involves.

How long does it take to move between levels?

It varies: progression is on criteria met, not months elapsed. The level criteria are on the kids page.

What should my child bring to their first lesson?

Sportswear, water, and sunscreen for outdoor courts. We provide racquets for the youngest levels — a first kids session.

My teenager has never played — is it too late to start?

No. We place by ability rather than age, so a fifteen-year-old beginner starts where a beginner starts. Teen tennis lessons.

How often should my teenager train?

Two to three sessions a week for competition, less when tennis sits alongside other commitments. The teen programme.

Who coaches the competition programme?

Anthony Claudot leads it, and all three coaches — Anthony, Lucas and Jonas — take competition sessions. The teen and competition page.

What happens at a holiday camp?

Five mornings in a row during the school holidays, two hours a day, grouped by age and ability from 4 to 17. Tennis holiday camps in Singapore sets out the week in full.

Do you enter players in tournaments?

We prepare players and advise on which events suit them; registration stays with the parent. The competition pathway.

Adults

Beginners, returners, and plateaued players.

Starting late, coming back, training with your partner, playing around an old injury.

I'm a complete beginner — is that OK?

More than OK — plenty of our adults started at zero, and a first session is built to feel comfortable rather than intimidating. Adult tennis lessons in Singapore.

I haven't played in ten years. Where do I start?

With a first lesson. Returning players usually rebuild faster than they expect — the adult programme explains why.

I've had an injury or a recurring niggle. Can I still train?

Tell us beforehand and your coach adapts the drills, the intensity and the volume. We are coaches rather than clinicians, so please get your doctor's clearance if you are under treatment. Training around an injury.

Can I take lessons with my partner?

Yes, one of our most booked formats — semi-private at SGD 70 per player, with drills adapted to both levels. Adult and couples formats.

How often should I take lessons?

Once or twice a week for steady progress. No minimum and no package to buy — the adult programme.

Pickleball

Singapore's fastest-growing sport, properly coached.

What the game is, what you need, and why the same method applies.

What is pickleball?

Tennis, badminton and table tennis combined, on a smaller court with a paddle and a perforated ball. Pickleball lessons in Singapore.

Do I need any experience to take a pickleball lesson?

None at all — most of our pickleball students start from scratch, and we build the serve, the rally and the positioning from there. How a first pickleball lesson runs.

What should I bring to a pickleball session?

Sportswear, water, and a hat and sunscreen for outdoor courts. Paddles and balls are ours — what a session includes.

Is pickleball coaching just for adults?

Mainly adults and older teenagers; younger players start with kids tennis. Who each format suits.

Do you use The Pure Method for pickleball too?

Yes — efficient movement is efficient movement, whatever the racquet. The Pure Method explains how it carries across.

How is Pure Sport different from other pickleball coaching in Singapore?

Three medals on the 2025 Singapore circuit, twenty years of racquet-sport coaching, and applied biomechanics behind it. Pickleball lessons.
